THE KANDY PROCESSION

Esala perahera
 





>The most venerated festival of Sri Lanka Buddhist is the Esala perahera  . 

       >This is held to thank the deities for a bountiful harvest and to ask them for sufficient rain for the next crop . 

      > That days is very beautiful . 

      >The kandy Esala perahera comprises of five procession . They are  " the Dalada maliga  procession" , " the natha Devala procession" , " the vishnu devala procession" , " the katharagama Devala procession"  and " the paththini Devala procession" . 

    > During these few days , the kandy town floods with people , rushed from the four corners of the country . 

 >  The most important and venerated in this procession is the holy tooth relic 


>  The whole pageant is extremely colorful .   It incorporates all aspects upcountry art . 

>  Each player of perahera takes pride in playing the part assigned to him with religious devotion . 

> I am really  proud born in Sri Lanka .

The history of a country is very important . my fauvarite subject is history . I dont know why . Theare many things we can take from past imformetion for today and tomoroow . i like to  learn the history of many countries . Among them  i specially like to learn about  my countrie history .Day by day history becomes new . my enthusiasm to study history keeps growing even more .Sri kankan history is very diffrent.
